The Mississippi Corridor Consortium - composed of East Mississippi Community College, Itawamba Community College, Northeast Mississippi Community College, and Northwest Mississippi Community College - received a $1.2 million Challenge Grant over a three-year period. From this grant, which was funded by the State Board for Community and Junior Colleges and the State Workforce Investment Board, the Manufacturing Solutions Center was established with the goal being to develop a seamless workforce development system that ensures the presence of a highly-skilled workforce.
